Equity markets rose over the week, supported by stronger-than-expected U.S. jobs data, and a WoW decline in crude prices, which eased inflation concerns, and lifted risk appetite. Energy underperformed, while basic materials, consumer cyclical, and healthcare led gains on improved sentiment, and stronger metals prices. Crude oil prices moved higher today as tensions in the Middle East escalated, with a fragile ceasefire, and increasingly aggressive rhetoric from both sides raising concerns over potential supply risks. Looking ahead, markets remain closely tied to developments in the ongoing conflict.
