Expanding Scale

FRC Analyst's Comment

WCN reported impressive results from its ongoing drill program at the Danvers 1 target within the Rae Copper project in Nunavut. Step-out drilling intersected 17.0 m grading 1.41% Cu, including 9.14 m at 2.65%, along with 14.5 m at 1.49%, and 5.0 m at 1.21%. These grades are well above the typical 0.3%–1.0% range for operating copper mines, pointing to potential for stronger project economics. Crucially, drilling expanded the mineralized footprint by 480%, tracing the trend across 4.75 km of strike. This significantly increases the potential scale of the discovery, and suggests the system could contain substantially more copper than previously identified.

With four primary targets open along strike and at depth, Danvers is increasingly demonstrating the scale and grade profile of a significant copper discovery, potentially attracting interest from larger mining companies.

Delivers High-Grade Copper Results

FRC Analyst's Comment

WCN reported promising initial results from the first diamond drill hole at its Danvers 1 target within the Rae copper project in Nunavut, intersecting 50.9 m grading 2.81% Cu and 7.66 g/t Ag from a shallow depth of 40 m, including 4.3 m at 10.93% Cu, and 4.8 m at 7.12% Cu. These grades are well above the 0.3%–1.0% average grade of most operating copper mines globally, implying the potential for lower operating costs and stronger project economics.

With 21 additional assays pending, we believe Danvers is increasingly demonstrating the characteristics of a significant high-grade copper discovery that could attract interest from larger miners.

Another Strong Round of Drill Results from the Rae copper project, Nunavut

FRC Analyst's Comment

WCN reported results from three additional holes at the Danvers target, a key exploration target within its Rae copper project in Nunavut. Highlights included one hole returning 79.2 m grading 1.6% Cu, including 24.4 m at 3.1%, intersected outside the main mineralized zone. For context, most operating copper mines globally have average grades of 0.3%–1.0%. The other two holes also returned broad mineralized intervals grading 0.3%–1.9%. These results have expanded the known mineralized strike length to over 3.1 km (from 2.6 km previously), while visual observations suggest the system could extend beyond 6 km (up from 4 km previously).

These results follow the exceptional assays highlighted in our MIW report last week, including 19.8 m at 6.6%, with higher-grade intervals of 7.6 m at 11.4%, 3.1 m at 17.7%, and 1.5 m at 21.1%, the highest-grade intercept reported at the project to date.

We believe Danvers is increasingly demonstrating the characteristics of a significant high-grade copper discovery that could attract interest from larger mining companies. With 3,000 m drilled to date, and a further ~7,000 m planned, we expect to have sufficient data by the end of the program to develop a preliminary/speculative resource estimate for the target.
