Bank of America Corporation, operating globally through its various divisions, delivers a comprehensive suite of banking and financial solutions. Its extensive client base includes individual consumers, small and mid-sized enterprises, institutional investors, major corporations, and governmental entities across the globe. The company's Consumer Banking division caters to individuals with a range of deposit products, such as standard savings, money market accounts, certificates of deposit (CDs), and IRAs, alongside both interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing checking options. This segment also provides investment accounts, credit and debit cards, residential mortgages, home equity loans, and various direct and indirect lending solutions, including those for automobiles, recreational vehicles, and personal needs. Under its Global Wealth & Investment Management arm, Bank of America delivers a spectrum of services encompassing investment management, brokerage, general banking, trust services, and retirement planning. It also provides holistic wealth management strategies and bespoke solutions, including specialized asset management. The Global Banking segment is responsible for corporate lending, offering commercial loans, lease financing, credit commitment facilities, trade finance, and both commercial real estate and asset-based lending. It also provides treasury services, including treasury management, foreign exchange, short-term investment vehicles, and merchant services, alongside working capital management. Furthermore, this segment handles debt and equity underwriting and distribution, as well as advisory services for mergers and acquisitions and other corporate finance matters. Bank of America's Global Markets division engages in capital markets activities such as market-making, financing, and comprehensive securities clearing, settlement, and custody. It additionally provides sophisticated risk management products, leveraging derivatives across interest rates, equities, credit, currencies, and commodities, in addition to foreign exchange, fixed-income, and mortgage-backed securities products. Demonstrating its vast reach, as of year-end 2021, Bank of America served roughly 67 million individual and small business customers. This extensive network was supported by around 4,200 physical branches, approximately 16,000 ATMs, and digital banking platforms utilized by roughly 41 million active users. Tracing its origins back to 1784, the corporation maintains its headquarters in Charlotte, North Carolina.
