Bank of America Corporation, operating globally through its subsidiary entities, delivers a comprehensive suite of banking and financial services. Its clientele spans a broad spectrum, from individual consumers and small-to-mid-sized enterprises to major corporations, institutional investors, and governmental bodies. Within its Consumer Banking division, the company furnishes a wide array of offerings, including various savings options like traditional and money market accounts, certificates of deposit, and IRAs. Customers can also access both interest-bearing and non-interest-bearing checking accounts, investment vehicles, credit and debit cards, and a range of lending solutions. The latter category encompasses residential mortgages, home equity lines, and direct or indirect personal financing for items such as automobiles and recreational vehicles. The Global Wealth & Investment Management segment focuses on providing sophisticated solutions, including investment oversight, brokerage services, traditional banking, and both trust and retirement product offerings. Furthermore, it delivers holistic wealth management strategies and bespoke services, notably in specialty asset management. The Global Banking division supports businesses with an extensive portfolio of lending and financial services. These comprise commercial loans, leasing arrangements, credit commitments, and trade financing, alongside commercial real estate and asset-backed lending. It also offers treasury solutions, covering cash management, foreign exchange, short-term investment vehicles, and merchant services. Additionally, the segment provides working capital strategies, debt and equity capital market activities (underwriting and distribution), and advisory services for mergers and acquisitions, among others. Through its Global Markets segment, Bank of America facilitates various market activities. This includes acting as a market maker, providing financing, and offering securities clearing, settlement, and custody functions. The segment also supplies an array of risk management tools, utilizing instruments such as interest rate, equity, credit, currency, and commodity derivatives, foreign exchange, fixed-income products, and mortgage-backed securities. By the close of 2021 (December 31st), the institution was serving roughly 67 million individual consumers and small business clients. This extensive reach was supported by approximately 4,200 branch locations, a network of about 16,000 automated teller machines, and digital banking platforms boasting nearly 41 million active users. Established in 1784, the company's corporate headquarters are situated in Charlotte, North Carolina.
