Who can enter?
Any university student in Canada or the U.S. It's built for finance and investment clubs, but every major is welcome.
How much does it cost?
Nothing. It's 100% complimentary to enter, and every participant gets a complimentary premium FRC account for the semester plus three months after it ends — then a 50% student rate for life.
How is scoring done?
By total portfolio return, tracked live on a public leaderboard against every other team and university.
Can I rebalance my portfolio?
Yes — the contest runs for a single semester, and you can rebalance at any point during it. The one condition: every time you change a holding, you post a short video explaining why. That keeps the focus on research instead of short-term trading.
Is the video required?
Yes. One short video (TikTok / Reels / LinkedIn) when you first draft your portfolio, then another every time you make a change — each one explaining your reasoning, tagged #FRCChallenge.
