The fund utilizes a combination of leverage and covered call strategy. The fund provides 1.25x leveraged exposure to an index comprised of the 10 largest Canadian utilities, pipelines, and telecommunication companies, included in FactSet Sectors: Electric Utilities, Gas Distributors, Water Utilities, Alternative Power Generation, Oil & Gas Pipelines, Major Telecommunications, and Wireless Telecommunications. Stocks are selected based on market cap and are equally weighted. The index is rebalanced quarterly starting in February. The fund manager has the discretion to write covered call options on not more than 33% of its securities, depending on market volatility and other factors. The fund is a geared product that rebalances within two business days if its leverage exceeds 2% above its target leverage of 25%. As such, this is designed as a short-term trading tool and not a long-term investment vehicle.
