NextEra Energy, Inc., along with its various subsidiaries, is a prominent energy provider in North America. The company offers a full suite of electricity services, encompassing generation, transmission, distribution, and sales, to both individual consumers and large commercial clients. Its diverse energy portfolio is powered by a mix of sources, including wind, solar, nuclear, and natural gas, alongside other sustainable energy solutions. Beyond direct power supply, NextEra Energy is also deeply involved in the development, construction, and operation of long-term contracted clean energy infrastructure. This includes renewable power generation facilities, advanced battery storage projects, and extensive electric transmission networks. Furthermore, the company engages in energy commodity trading and manages electricity generation assets for wholesale markets. Its substantial physical footprint includes approximately 33,276 megawatts of net generating capacity, about 90,000 circuit miles of transmission and distribution lines, and 883 substations. Within Florida, specifically the eastern and lower western coastal areas, NextEra Energy supplies power to roughly 12 million people through an estimated 5.9 million customer accounts. The company, established in 1925, was previously known as FPL Group, Inc. before officially changing its name to NextEra Energy, Inc. in 2010. Its corporate headquarters are situated in Juno Beach, Florida.
