Industrias Peñoles, S.A.B. de C.V., together with its subsidiaries, engages in the exploration, extraction, and sale of mineral concentrates and ores in Mexico, Asia, Europe, the United States, Canada, South America, and internationally. It operates through Precious Metal Mines, Base Metal Mines, Metallurgical, and Other segments.
The company is also involved in the smelting and refining of non-ferrous metals. It primarily explores for zinc, lead, copper, gold, silver, cadmium, and bismuth deposits.
In addition, it produces and sells chemical products, such as sodium sulfate, magnesium oxide, ammonium sulfate, and magnesium sulfate, as well as copper sulfate, zinc sulfate, and antimony trioxide; and provides administrative and operating support services. The company was founded in 1887 and is headquartered in Mexico City, Mexico.
