The company also offers alloys containing nickel, cobalt and iron, and REEs, which are used in battery, magnet, and aerospace industries. It primarily holds a 74% interest in Steenkampskraal monazite mine located to the north of Cape Town, South Africa.
The company was formerly known as Great Western Gold Corp. and changed its name to Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. in August 2002. Great Western Minerals Group Ltd. was incorporated in 1983 and is headquartered in Saskatoon, Canada.
