This exchange-traded fund (ETF) targets the aerospace and defense industry, specifically investing in companies whose primary operations involve defense-related activities and emphasize innovation. Its portfolio is concentrated across three critical sub-sectors: advanced defense hardware, such as robotics, unmanned aerial vehicles (drones), military transport, space technologies, sensor and networking infrastructure, and sophisticated weaponry; cutting-edge defense software, including artificial intelligence (AI), the Internet of Things (IoT), augmented and virtual reality (AR/VR), big data analysis, geospatial intelligence, and security scanning systems; and cybersecurity companies dedicated to safeguarding essential infrastructure. The fund typically holds between 15 and 100 companies, with a significant preference for firms located outside the United States and Canada, and may allocate up to 25% of its assets to emerging markets. Its security selection methodology integrates a top-down sectoral analysis with a bottom-up fundamental and valuation assessment to uncover attractively priced companies poised for substantial growth. Currency exchange rate fluctuations are not hedged by the fund, and it retains the option to participate in securities lending. As an actively managed vehicle, the advisor constantly monitors and adapts the portfolio in response to evolving market conditions and individual company performance.
