I’m certainly not a geologist, but the just released PEA for Marmato appears to be rather underwhelming, any comments?
John
Hi John, thank you for the question. Please see our update report dated November 18, 2019, titled “Spinning Out Marmato / On Track to Set Records in 2019”, under the “Company Reports’ section for our views on the latest PEA.
Generally, we were pleased with the PEA as our models had estimated an AT-NPV at 5% of $203 million, and an AT-NPV at 10% (our base -case) of $75 million, based on $1,300 per oz gold, initial CAPEX of $250 million, and a 20 year mine life. These estimates were in line with the actual study results, which showed AT-NPV at 5% of $207 million, an AT-NPV at 10% of $89 million, initial CAPEX of $269 million, and a 19 year mine life. Note that the PEA only used 2.35 Moz contained gold of a total measured and indicated resource of 2.9 Moz and inferred resource of 4.4 Moz.
Looks RIO is an all-time low. Your thoughts on ” BUY” this stock on the short term? Any reason that you might know, why it’s been moving sideways for a while at this price?
Thanks/
Hi Jatinder, thank you for your question. RIO (Rio2 Limited / TSXV: RIO) remains one of our top picks. Our outlook and valuation on the company has not changed since our most recent report in October 2019. Here is a link to the report:

Years ago I also heard an expert in mining area recommending this stock.
But I am speaking for myself here, I am going to invest in this area after gold is done with the correction, I believe gold is heading lower.
Thank you for your comments. Our analysts have a positive outlook on gold for H2-2021. Please check out this video for more insights:https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ZVtEMYMX5O0
FRC does come up with some real big winners, I am impressed.
Thank you Chee Chow.
I like the merger between GCM and Aris. The merger does leave me with a couple of wait and see questions…1. What does the new board do with GCM’s dividend with all the developement projects they are taking on? 2. Does Denarius fit in the piocture? and what do they do with it?
GCM is my largest holding and I own a little bit of Aris and its warrants. I thought the best way to play these two companies was through owning GCM with its dividend and 44% or so ownership in Aris and buy through the warrants when the price was right.
Hi Ross, thank you for the message. GCM is expected to stop dividends after completing the merger. Aris’ management will run the combined entity. Denarius will be run by GCM’s current team. Our views on the merger is available in this note:
